Renovations to Various Buildings at
BOSTON CITY HOSPITAL
and LONG ISLAND

Boston, Massachusetts

Upon completion of an existing conditions survey ASEC Corporation developed repair recommendations and designs for six buildings at Boston City Hospital's Massachusetts Avenue and Long Island sites. The buildings include the Dowling and Woods Mullin Buildings in Boston's South End and the Tobin, Administration, Morris and Guard Buildings on Long Island in Boston Harbor. The majority of work included the replacement of existing windows (totalling 297) which have outlived their useful life. Existing double hung wood and/or steel windows were replaced with aluminum tilt/turn or hopper vent windows.

Repairs were also made to existing masonry including lintel replacement and replacement of areas of defective brick.

Roof repairs and interior door replacement services were also included in the scope of work for the project.
