CENTRAL FIRE STATION

Whitman, Massachusetts

ASEC Corporation was contracted by the Town of Whitman to perform a complete evaluation of their Central Fire Station building. This is a brick masonry building, built in 1901.

ASEC Corporation conducted a complete condition survey of the building which included architecture, structure, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC system. A detailed report was prepared with recommendations and cost estimates of two scenarios which included rehabilitation, code compliance, and expansion of the building. The summary of the report was presented to the Town Meeting to select one of the alternative presented in the report.

The report included a condition survey of the existing building in order to monitor the impact a new two-story addition would have.
